Le slalom is 150 metres from the paragliding school Aireole, who we highly recommend, and 120 metres from the paragliding landing field. To learn to fly you will need a simple medical, which can be done in Morzine at a cost of 30 € , and the French licence fee, which includes insurance costing 43 €. There are three courses as follows.
Level 1 (Beginners course 4 days Monday to Thursday) 400€
The objective of this course is to familiarise yourself with the paraglide, learn how to inflate the glide, take off on the nursery slopes and on day 3 and day 4 fly from the mountain and land in the village, a decent of 600m. You will be flying alone but with radio contact from an instructor at take off and talked down by radio with an instructor on the ground. By the end of this course you will have completed some solo flights in very calm winds.
Level 2 ( Intermediate course, 4 days Monday to Thursday) 450€
The objective of this course is to extend your knowledge and experiences learned in the first course. You will start to learn to feel thermals and learn pitch and other movements in the air. You will try to choose your route to the landing site but with contact from the instructor always on hand to guide if required.
Level 3 (Advanced course, 4 days Monday to Thursday) 500€
The object of this course is to continue with thermals and learn to gain altitude. It is a continuation from course 2 and by the end of the course you will have the knowledge to land without radio support, although radio support is on hand if you need it. There will also be a flight in another area, such as Les Gets.
